"Suzuki had suffered from cancer once before in 1983, and was now in between surgeries stemming from colon cancer, which he had been diagnosed with last year and immediately had an operation on. After the surgery, he was left with two holes in his small intestine. Yet he still maintained an air of serenity as he told me about the care service that helps him consume artificial food and his upcoming surgery, scheduled for the end of the year: “That's why I am preparing.
